School is starting up soon and kids (and parents) need fuel to perform the best they can. As you can imagine, the sugary cereal our kids love also lead to sugar crashes later in the day. My favorite post work out drink or in a hurry meal. Make a big batch so you can freeze anything you won’t drink right away in individual cups or bottles to take with you on the go in the future.
Here is a recipe that will leave you satisfied. This healthy protein and fiber packed breakfast is a great way to spice up a bland breakfast.
7. Cottage Cheese Paired With Fruit
Such an easy, balanced meal. Cottage cheese packs a protein punch. Cut up some fruit in advance and spritz with a little lemon juice to keep it fresh and appetizing.
8. Greek Yogurt Parfait
Greek yogurt has 2-3 times the amount of protein found in regular yogurt and is a creamier, richer option. Mix in some healthy granola and fruit of your choice and you have a creamy treat.
There are millions of pancake recipes out there but try mine and you won’t be disappointed. Double the batch and make them on the weekend when you have time on your hands. The leftovers freeze well for later or can be eaten as a quick breakfast the rest of the week. Even find a recipe for veggie pancakes and sneak some vegetables into your kid’s day without them knowing.
10. Peanut Butter Banana Wrap
A twist on classic peanut butter toast, I’ve eaten this since I was a kid and now my kids love them. Spread natural creamy peanut butter onto a whole wheat tortilla. Place a whole, peeled banana down the middle of the tortilla and wrap like a burrito. Wrap it in aluminum foil and take it with you for an easy breakfast or snack.
This bread is so delicious and filling your kids will beg for more. Plus you are getting a serving of vegetables before the day even starts.
